Gratitude in Action

In my short life thus far, I have found that Gratitude is one of the most important things that we can have in our life. If we make a habit to look at all of our blessings and actually think through how important those things are to us, we change the way we think about our life. It helps us to be more content with what we have and desire less what others have. This can lead to a much more happier and fulfilling life. David Bednar, speaking of the gift of gratitude said:

[Gratitude] enables our appreciation for what we have to constrain desires for what we want. A grateful person is rich in contentment. An ungrateful person suffers in the poverty of endless discontentment.

When I pay more attention to the things I have, and recognize how blessed and grateful I am, I have much less of a desire to want “more, more, more”. I am more content with what I have and feel so much better about my life, the goals I am reaching towards, and have a much easier time getting up each morning.
