So tonight I was playing pool with a friend at a party. We had been sitting around watching some other guys playing and the table had cleared so we racked them up. I’m not great at pool but I’ve played some so I figured I’d at least be able to do ok. The game was all but clean – real rough actually, and not that it matters but I lost because I scratched off the 8-ball… There was however a lesson I learned from this experience that I wanted to share with you.
Watch others and don’t be afraid to give their techniques at things a try. ”If we always do what we’ve always done we’ll always get what we’ve always got” – so look around and learn from others, and then go out of your way to try some of those things that you see working. I tried a few things I saw some of the other guys doing. I didn’t win the game but I learned some things that will make my game better over time.
Sometimes we have to stretch and push ourselves so we can reach the next better us. Use the techniques of others to learn and grow.
