Pick One Thing

One of the problems I have had for a while, is having too many good things to be working on. In a video I watched today, Robin Sharma talked about saying no to other fantastic opportunities. This is hard for me. I often succumb to the shiny object syndrome (where you jump to the next shiny object you see before finishing the one you started working on.) I think the beginning of the year is the worst because everyone I’ve subscribed to in the past suddenly recommits to sending out good and better content to help you change. I get tons of free intro material geared toward helping me change (and make the decision to buy their course) that I end up taking in lots of good content, but not really changing much because I try and change too much. This year, I’m focusing on ONE main goal. I have one project I am going to do this year. I need to finish up some client work, and I can’t stop spending time with my family and doing my full time job, but rather than have 5 or 10 different projects going on, I’m going to just have one main one that I am going to focus on.

2014 is the pivotal year for me and my family. That is what I’ve decided.
