I’ve heard the quote “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain.” The only problem is if we are too self concious to actually dance in the rain with other people around us. Why do we always care what those around us think? I was at a party tonight and a couple started dancing to the music. It was fast paced dance music and they were having a blast! They weren’t real smooth from popular dance standards. I leaned over to a friend next to me and made a comment like “You’ll never catch me out on a dance floor like that! Especially with that video camera over there.” As I’ve thought of that comment I realized how much courage it takes to go out in front of friends or family (or both) and just have fun. Just give it your all, who cares what you look like, at least you will remember you had fun! It takes courage to push through hard times but it takes even more to put yourself out there and have fun without worrying what others are thinking about you. Thanks guys for your example! Its one that won’t be easy to adapt but I won’t forget what I learned tonight.
