I have been thinking a lot about goals lately. I’ve set a bunch here at the beginning of the year, and I’ve been trying to work on them. I was in a group today discussing reasons people fail with achieving goals. One of the conclusions we came to was that although they feel the need to change, the don’t have the motivation to do what it takes to make that change. One way we came up with increasing the desire to reach a goal is to have a reason for the goal. If a doctor came up to you and said “if you don’t lose 20 pounds by summer you’ll be dead in a year” – you would be more motivated to lose those 20 pounds. So, the trick is to put motivating reasons behind your goals so that you are more likely to achieve them. I’ve determined that finding those reasons may be the hardest part…
